I am back

I have not disappeared. I have literally been buried in work - teaching two sections of literature, taking a full load of classes at PSU, and until recently, working at a local African art store. Winter quarter at PSU ended last week, and next term, I only teach one section of composition (and after that, one section of literature). This past weekend, I had to write two take-home essay exams, study for a forensics final, finish a book review for the LA Times, and grade almost thirty papers. Whew!

Here is my review of Jessica Abel's graphic novel, "La Perdida," published in today's LA Times Book Review.

I am so glad you haven't disappeared. And congratulations on the book review! I just read it and I am extremely intrigued by the book...and it made me crave your writing. I've missed you! Glad to hear you are unburied of work for the moment, however brief. Mwah!
