mother

my aunt, mother, and cousins, reflected on an elevator ceiling, for photo friday: mother

My mother, aunt, and cousin arrived last Tuesday sporting identical Iowa: Home Sweet Home tee shirts. It seemed to me there was something so quintessentially mother about this, so perfectly embarrassing and sweet and quirky that I had to post this image for Photo Friday. Here we are riding the elevator to my 2nd floor apartment - another essentially mother experience. I never take the elevator when I am alone.

That's a wonderful picture. Especially once you've read the text.

I dislike matching shirts so much it's hard to know where to begin. But then I will be caught off guard, in situations just like the one captured here, where the dislike of something will just sweep all the way around the dial and catch back up with me, making me smile. Some times matching shirts are just right.

You say it perfect - perfectly embarrassing and sweet and quirky. I, too, am from Iowa. I wish I'd stepped onto that elevator and had that sort of reminder staring me in the face.
